I can work with you to help you optimise your personal and professional wellness by exploring lifestyle choices, wellness goals, coping strategies and other areas as relevant to your business or workplace success. The skills and experience I bring
I've been supporting health professionals and individuals with wellness since the late 80's! Yep that long!
In the late 80's I managed professional development and education workshops for Cumberland College of Health Sciences, Sydney University and designed and facilitated wellness workshops for health professionals. My first business was called H.A.H (How About Humour) and was one of the very early initiatives in Australia promoting the value of ‘good humour’ and positive thinking for therapeutic benefits. I loved the area so much some of my Masters thesis explored and acknowledged the wholistic power of humour and other 'positive' emotions. Today this field is known as positive psychology and “Laugher Clubs” are to be found throughout the world.
My interest in wellness continued and led me to complete a 4 year teacher training program in Dru Yoga. This gave me a whole lot of new skills to work holistically with body, mind and spirit utilising tools I already had from my Coaching training. I taught Dru Yoga for many years and with hundreds of people in the workplace and in community venues. I facilitated many weekend retreats and 'special' events combining my love of nature, yoga and spirituality and provided numerous workshops for corporate groups as part of their corporate retreats or team building work.
Like many of us I was shocked to hear the World Heath Organisation predict that depression will be the second highest cause of workplace disability by 2020. Through my respected work in the wellness field and belief that yoga could help I was invited to present workshops at 2 International conferences entitled Women and Depression and also contributed a chapter to the book Women and Depression.
